The other day, my niece showed me a registered letter sent to her with a 500-baht check under her name from a company.
I wondered what it was and then she pulled out a small note attached....she sure wanted to answer my curiosity step by step ka:))!
The note, which is from the 'treasurer', reads, 'Since we haven't had any activity in our group that attended.....course, I'd like to send all of you the remaining fund.'
I was very surprised because my niece didn't attend such a course before and then she said she started looking at it and noticed that it was the course organized 13 years ago.
She called the person up to check about it to learn that it was the one her father attended and since he passed away, this treasurer called his office (where his daughter is now working) to ask for his daughter's name and wrote a check for her ka.
We were real impressed with the great responsibility of the 'treasurer' to make sure the money was sent back to each and every one.
I was thrilled and definitely to my niece and her mother, they were even more touched. My sister-in-law was in tears with her fondest memories of her late husband.
My niece wanted to thank this lady and asked me how best to put it. I told her right away to write what she said to me, which would be so genuine and show her delight and appreciation na ka. She said she treated everyone in her section coffee (which was far more than what she got.) and she planned to make merits for her father.
The following morning, she told me she dreamed of finding a document in our kitchen, which would lead to 5 million baht. I then asked her what she would do about it (we bought our house from the original owner ka.) The answer was clear!
Having a good model with responsibility and morality is needed and after all money means much much less than the deep joy and pride we all felt ka!
