A belated first 2022 message kaa! Hope it has been a wonderful start to see a more hopeful year even when omicron is surging na ka.
Life has been quite busy with both fun and some work ka. Even so, I can continue watching YouTube. One interesting interview was from Career Table with Khun Supagee, CEO of the Dusit Groups sharing her career stories ka.
My intention isn’t to share what she said in the show but how she managed to go through the one-hour program ka.
The host is in fact a capable lady, yet as she was quite new to this job, she sure needs some more experience in interviewing such a high profile level guest. Since the host didn’t offer follow-on questions, Khun Supagee started coming up with questions by saying, ‘I think you (the host) and our audience might have some questions or want to know what or how I did then.’ Or ‘Since we’ll talk more about my current responsibility, let me touch on ….’ By doing so, Khun Supagee showed her smart and kind leadership to the host, enabling both to carry on the interview with increased interest and content richness.
As I follow this host on another program and I think she’s a bright lady with persistence, I decided to write and tell her about it. Several recommendations were given to her too like, ‘Instead of summarizing all the things the guest said, she could only pick up some keywords to come up with follow-on questions.’ She could also watch other interviewers to learn about some key questions they used, especially when the guest is female like Indra Nooyi.
In addition, this host co-founded a small company on career services. I asked her not to express her views that robots would take over our jobs! She should encourage people to have the growth mindset and challenge the younger gen to acquire new skills for work with robots as partners not competitors ka.
After I messaged her, she answered with thanks and said she would take the advice for improvements ka. I was gladly relieved she was open for suggestions ka.
